One Shop.One Scope.One Record Book.
HCR Industrial Innovations combines welding engineering, fabrication, precision machining, heat treatment and assembly in one Houston facility, so a part that needs four disciplines does not need four suppliers.
The problem
Hard to coordinate, not hard to make
Most industrial parts that give buyers trouble are not hard to weld or hard to machine. They are hard to coordinate. A weldment goes to one shop, the machining to another, heat treatment to a third, and the engineering sits upstream with none of them. Every handoff costs a week and leaves a gap in the record.
HCR holds those disciplines together. Welding, machining, heat treatment, assembly and the welding and quality engineering that govern them all run in one building, under one document control system, on one schedule.

- Delivery
- In house, or to your shop
Process
From engineering to delivery
One route through the shop, one document control system, one schedule.
- 01
Customer requirement
A drawing, a material specification and a quantity are enough to start.
- 02
Engineering review
The drawing is reviewed for weldability, tolerance and manufacturing risk before it is quoted.
- 03
Material & process planning
Material is specified and traced; the route through the shop is planned as one sequence.
- 04
Welding & fabrication
The procedure is written to the governing code, qualified by test, and the welders are qualified to it.
- 05
Machining & PWHT
Machining and localized heat treatment run in the same building, on the same schedule.
- 06
Inspection & quality
Visual, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing in house; advanced NDE coordinated where the code requires it.
- 07
Assembly
Components become the finished assembly under one document control system.
- 08
Delivery & field support
The part ships with the record book. Field support follows if the work needs it.
Engineering
Engineering is how the work gets scoped

Engineering is not a department here that hands drawings downstream. It is how the work gets scoped.
Before a difficult part is quoted, someone reviews the drawing for weldability, tolerance and manufacturing risk. Before it is built, the welding procedure is written to the governing code, qualified by test, and the welders are qualified to it. While it is running, the same people are on the floor.
Quality
From the material certificate to the finished record
Work is controlled from the material certificate to the finished record. Procedures are qualified before production. Materials are traceable. Visual, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing are performed in house, with advanced NDE coordinated where the code or the customer requires it. Deviations are raised, dispositioned and recorded rather than absorbed.
HCR is building its quality system to ISO 9001 and to the requirements of ASME Section VIII and the National Board Inspection Code. Certification under ISO 9001, an ASME PRT-3 Certificate of Authorization and a National Board R Certificate of Authorization are in progress.

Send us your next drawing package.
A drawing, a material specification and a quantity are enough to start. Tell us the tolerance that matters most and the date you need it, and we will tell you what we can hold and when. If the part is outside our envelope, you will hear it on the first call rather than on the delivery date.
